Saving Salmon

Today due to the diligence of our head ghillie, Lee Ross we were able to save bucket loads of salmon and return them to Tweed.

A small pond that was left after the high waters of the winter floods was found on Canny Island, it was full of fish!

With the help of Karl Ferguson from The River Tweed Commission and his electro fishing equipment the small fish were caught and returned to the river.

The buckets of fish contained salmon parr, salmon fry, brown trout, flounders and lamprey.
